The ibeju Lekki Deep Sea Port, a multi-purpose Deep Sea Port at the heart of the Lagos Free Trade Zone, will be one of the most modern ports in West Africa, providing enormous support to Nigeria's and the entire West African region's burgeoning commercial operations.

Lekki Port, located 65 kilometers east of Lagos, is spread across 90 hectares of land in the heart of the Lagos Free Zone. The site's western boundary is located east of Magbon Segun Village, and its eastern boundary is located west of Itoke Village. The Atlantic Ocean forms the site's southern boundary, and the Old Ibeju-Lekki Road between Eleko and Akodo forms its northern boundary.

Project Overview & Structure

Collaborating Towards a Common Goal

The Nigerian Ports Authority granted Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited a 45-year concession on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis. LPLEL is required by this agreement to develop, finance, build, operate, and transfer the port to NPA at the end of the concession term. The port's operations will generate revenue for LPLEL.

When finished, Lekki Port will have three container berths, one dry bulk berth, and three liquid berths.

The Port's shareholding structure is as follows:

On April 21, 2011, entered into a Concession Agreement with NPA for the right to build and operate a deep-sea port in Ibeju Lekki, Nigeria. This concession is granted in accordance with the Nigerian Ports Authority Act of 2004. The Concession and the Nigerian Ports Authority Act 2004 serve as the legal and regulatory foundations for the development and operations



cAs LPLEL has ultimate responsibility under the Concession Agreement, it will manage the interfaces between NPA, the Lekki Port operations manager and the three industry specialist terminal operators.
